HAVE YOUR SAY ON SWALE’S NEW LOCAL PLAN

Swale Borough Council is currently consulting on the Regulation 19 stage of its new Local Plan.

The Local Plan will help shape future development across Swale, including where development takes place and the policies used when deciding planning applications.

This is your opportunity to comment on the plan before it is submitted to the Government for independent examination.

Consultation closes:
Monday 21 September 2026 at 5pm

You can view the draft Local Plan, maps and supporting documents, and find out how to submit your comments on Swale Borough Council’s website:

https://swale.gov.uk/lpr-consultation

Hard copies are also available to view at Swale Borough Council offices and local libraries.

At this stage, comments should focus on whether the plan is legally compliant and considered “sound”. Swale Borough Council has provided guidance and FAQs explaining what this means and how you can respond.

If you have views on the future development of Sheerness and the wider Swale area, make sure you have your say before the deadline.

Questions about the consultation can be sent to LPcomments@swale.gov.uk
