
Sheerness Town Council Awards Over £5,870 in Community Grants to Local Organisations
We’re delighted to announce that Sheerness Town Council has awarded more than £6,870 in Community Grants to 14 local organisations that are making a real difference in our community.
The grants will help fund a wide range of projects and activities including:
• Sheppey United Youth. Improving access to a footpath at their facility.
• Co-Op Sports & Social Club. Supporting their annual community festival.
• Swale Pride Helping deliver this year’s Pride event.
• The Harmony Therapy Trust CIO Providing therapy and support to local residents.
• Minster-on-Sea Rotary Club. Supporting the Sheppey Festival.
• The Freedom Centre Purchasing cinema equipment for community use.
• Swale Vehicle Enthusiasts Club. Supporting their annual car show.
• EKC Trust. Providing food parcels to those in need.
• Beachfield Swimming Squad. Purchasing heart monitors for swimmers.
• Criterion Blue Town Remembered. Purchasing a printer to support their activities.
• Joining Hands Joining Hearts. Supporting their community support group.
• The Autism Apprentice. Funding an open day for family appointments.
• Friendly Faces of KentSupporting activities and classes at their community hub.
• East Kent Mencap. Delivering an environmental awareness and green space project.
Our Community Grant Scheme exists to support organisations that improve the lives of Sheerness residents, strengthen community spirit and provide opportunities for people of all ages.
Every one of these groups plays an important role in our community. Whether it’s supporting wellbeing, tackling isolation, providing activities, celebrating diversity, helping families or creating opportunities for local people, their work helps make Sheerness a better place to live.

The next round of Community Grants is now open and applications will be accepted until 28th September 2026.
