Kent Police Report – October/November 2025

At last night’s Full Council meeting, members received the latest update from Kent Police regarding recent activity and policing matters in Sheerness. Key points included:

Community Engagement
• Local officers attended the Sheerness Speed Networking Event at Islandworks Dockyard Church, supporting young people exploring future employment opportunities.
• Kent Police highlighted the excellent work of the Sheppey Employment Forum, who organised the event.

Rise in Fake £20 Notes
There have been at least three incidents involving counterfeit £20 notes being used in Sheerness. CCTV is being reviewed and enquiries continue.

️ Business Crime Week
Between 10–14 November, officers worked closely with High Street businesses, offering crime-prevention advice and carrying out targeted operations. Multiple shoplifting arrests were made, including one individual charged and remanded for a series of high-value thefts.

️ Remembrance Parade
Local officers represented Kent Police at the Sheerness Remembrance Parade, which was very well attended.
